Terms of Service
Rules of the ride.
Effective Date: August 9, 2026
Last Updated: August 9, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the Standby mobile application, joinstandby.com, and related services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by Kinetics Automation LLC (“Standby,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Standby. If you are under the age of majority where you live, your parent or legal guardian must accept these Terms for you. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to purchase or use Booking Assist.
You may use the Services only in compliance with applicable law and these Terms.
2. The Standby Services
Standby provides theme-park tools that may include:
- Wait times, attraction status, show times, park information, and historical data.
- Alerts, Live Activities, widgets, Siri shortcuts, favorites, visit tracking, and ride logs.
- Premium access with additional features or higher usage limits.
- Booking Assist for supported Lightning Lane Multi Pass activities at Walt Disney World.
Features, supported parks, and data sources may change. Standby is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Disney or any other theme-park operator.
3. Booking Assist
What Booking Assist Does
Booking Assist watches for supported Lightning Lane availability and, based on the choices you make, may create a new selection, modify an existing selection, or cancel a Standby-created selection for the guests you select. Standby connects through a Standby My Disney Experience Friends & Family profile. We do not ask for or receive your Disney username or password.
Your Authorization
By linking Disney and starting a watch, you authorize Standby to view the linked party and eligibility information needed to perform your request and to take the booking actions you select. You represent that you have permission to manage plans and share information for every guest you add, including any minor or managed profile.
Requirements and Limits
- Booking Assist currently supports selected Walt Disney World Lightning Lane Multi Pass activities.
- Each selected guest must have valid admission, any required park reservation, and separately purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass eligibility.
- Standby does not purchase park admission, Multi Pass, or Single Pass for you.
- Standby does not make your initial Multi Pass selections during Disney's advance-selection or 7:00 a.m. process.
- Some actions are available only on the date of the park visit or when Disney shows the guest as eligible.
- Removing an imported Disney selection from Standby does not cancel it with Disney. Removing a Standby-created booked selection may request cancellation with Disney.
No Booking Guarantee
Return-time availability is not guaranteed. Disney controls eligibility, inventory, park rules, outages, and final booking results. Standby may miss an opening, receive delayed or inconsistent data, or be unable to complete or confirm an action. Always verify your plans in My Disney Experience before relying on them.
4. Purchases
Standby may offer free access, fixed-term passes, auto-renewing subscriptions, and one-time purchases. Booking Assist Day and Week access are fixed-term products and do not automatically renew. Annual Premium access automatically renews unless canceled through Apple before the renewal date. The product description, coverage dates, renewal terms, localized price, taxes, and total shown at checkout control your purchase.
Apple processes App Store purchases. Stripe processes eligible direct Booking Assist purchases. Standby does not receive or store full payment-card numbers. We do retain transaction and processor reference information needed to provide access, prevent fraud, handle disputes, and maintain business records.
For an Apple purchase, manage subscriptions or request a refund through Apple. For a direct purchase, contact support@joinstandby.com. Refund eligibility depends on the purchase terms shown at checkout, the status of the service, and applicable law. Refunded, reversed, or disputed purchases may result in the associated access being revoked.
A purchase provides access to Standby for the stated period; it does not include admission, Lightning Lane products sold by Disney, or any other third-party product.
5. Devices and Linked Services
Standby generally identifies your installation through device and push-notification identifiers rather than a traditional Standby username and password. Booking Assist may associate that installation with a Disney-linked profile and party information.
You are responsible for your device, your selections, the accuracy of information you provide, and compliance with the terms and rules of Apple, Disney, and any other service you connect to Standby. You may disconnect Disney through the App, subject to completion or reconciliation of any booking action already in progress.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not:
- Use the Services unlawfully or without authority for another person.
- Interfere with, overload, probe, or bypass security or access controls.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Services except where applicable law permits it.
- Use automation to access Standby except through features we provide.
- Misrepresent your identity, eligibility, party authority, or purchase status.
7. Ownership and Feedback
Standby and its original software, design, and content are owned by Kinetics Automation LLC or its licensors. Theme-park names, attraction names, and other third-party marks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify relevant places and services. If you submit feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or compensation.
8. Third-Party Data and Service Availability
Standby depends on Apple, Disney, theme-park systems, network providers, payment processors, and other third parties we do not control. Wait times, attraction status, eligibility, inventory, notifications, and booking results may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or a particular result. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kinetics Automation LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by third-party data, unavailable inventory, missed or changed reservations, notifications, service interruptions, or your failure to verify a result. Our aggregate liability relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid Standby for the affected Service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
10. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Standby at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security, nonpayment, legal requirements, third-party platform restrictions, or discontinued functionality. Termination does not create a refund right beyond the purchase terms or applicable law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination remain effective.
11. Governing Law and Consumer Rights
Florida law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Florida, except that you may use any court or consumer remedy available under mandatory law where you live. These Terms do not limit non-waivable consumer rights. We do not require arbitration under these Terms.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version and effective date and provide additional notice when required by law or when reasonably appropriate for a material change. Changes apply prospectively from their effective date.
13. Apple and Contact Information
If you obtained the App through Apple, the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the App license unless Apple presents a different license. These Terms govern the Standby Services and supplement that license. Apple is not responsible for operating or supporting Standby.
